British Berkefield^TMSS GRAVITY FILTER
Made from high grade polished stainless steel, the SS Gravity Filter is a portable, robust model, which is easy to keep hygienically clean. The SS is very popular with aid organisations and private customers alike.
The SS is fitted with 2, 3, or 4 filter candles (cartridges) depending on the flow rate required (more candles = higher flow rate).
The output of the SS, assuming regular refilling of the upper chamber with raw water, will be approximately as follows:
2 candles - 40 litres per 24 hours
3 candles - 60 litres per 24 hours
4 candles - 80 litres per 24 hours
All SS filters have four internal mountings to enable the fitting of up to 4 candles. Unused mountings are filled with removable rubber bungs so that you can upgrade at any time.
The SS is fitted with Super Sterasyl^TMcandles
For ease of transport, the upper chamber fits into the lower chamber to save space.
The capacity of the lower, purified water, chamber is 10 litres.

SUPER STERASYL^tm Candle (cartridge): The Super Sterasyl filter element combines ceramic & activated carbon filtration.
The ceramic is impregnated with silver to make it self-sterilising. Silver inhibits the growth of bacteria. Super SterasylT ceramics have a tightly controlled complex pore structure, which has unparalleled filtration properties.With its absolute filtration rating (defined as >99.99%) of 0.9 microns, Super SterasylT is highly effective against particulate contamination, pathogenic bacteria, cysts etc.
The ceramic outer shell is filled with granular activated carbon. Activated carbon is very effective at removing chlorine and organics from water.Cartridge life is 2000 litres per cartridge.

Replacement candles £22.95 each. The candles are scrubbable & should only be replaced when taste & odour issues return.
